Riding Holidays in Spain > Accomodation

Accomodation

We always try and use those places that reflect the charm or history of the Alpujarra to the best effect. Generally speaking we always use what we consider to be the best hotels available in any area that we visit. All have en suite bathrooms and many have swimming pools.

If there is one thing on which all riders might agree then it will almost certainly be the value of a good meal and a comfortable night's sleep after a day in the saddle.

Depending on the route, there are between three and five swimming pools on the way and the odd river.

Many of the rooms have balconies and nearly all of them boast impressive views.

  • Das Hotel Moraymar (Alqueria de Morayma) in the Contraviesa is a beautifully restored hamlet with its own grounds and bodega where they specialize (rather unusually for Spain) in the making of organic white wine.

  • Hotel Maravedi, Capilerilla
This newly built hotel perfectly combines modern comfort with traditional architecture. Fantastic views from the balconies of the rooms and entertaining owners ensure a stay that you will fondly remember for a long time.

  • Hotel Catifalarga (Al Catife) ) is one of the best situated hotels in Europe. Less than a kilometer out of town, it sits above the village of Capileira at an altitude of 1600m commanding an incredibly view of the Poqueira Valley and the Mediterranean beyond.

  • Hotel  Los Bérchules , Berchules
An all-time favorite for our repeat clients with a cozy pool, comfortable rooms with all modern amenities while depicting the traditional building style and great hosts.

  • Hotel Pepe Alvarez, Trevelez
Comfortable traditional Hotel, located centrally in Spain's highest village "Trevelez". The restaurant is famous for its ham-stuffed trout.

  • Hotel San Roque, Pitres
Comfortable hotel and restaurant in the quaint village of Pitres. The varied traditional Menu promises a great Dinner "a la carte" on our last evening in the Alpujarra.

  • Hotel El Cercado, Alcutar
Comfortable apartments, a large swimming pool and excellent cuisine are the perfect recipe for a memorable stay near the quaint village of Alcutar.

  • Hotel El Castañar Nazari, Busquistar
Inside the Sierra Nevada Natural park, in the open valley runs the Trevelez river. "El Castañar Nazari" - "The Chestnut Grove" emerges from the old ruins of the "Caserio de Las Rozas"
